"israel's" Administrative Detention and Torture
A recent video surfaced of the abhorrent sexual abuse of a Palestinian man being held prisoner in the Sde Teiman detention facility. The video shows, “israeli” occupation forces surrounding the prisoner being assaulted with riot shields trying to mask the attack. The compound is filled with dozens of other prisoners and detainees visibly restrained, lying in the dirt, stripped of a majority of their clothing in an attempt to dehumanize and abuse.
Torture Camps: Sde Teiman
This facility is located in the Negev desert in Southern occupied Palestine and is one of many new torture camps overhauled by “Israel” (the zionist regime) to expand the use of administrative detention and illegally arrest, torture, and terrorize Palestinians.
Detainees from this torture camp have documented that they were handcuffed, blindfolded, and ordered not to speak to each other. The compound includes a field hospital where wounded detainees are strapped to their beds, forced to wear diapers, fed through straws, and subjected to amputations without anesthesia, conducted by unqualified medics.
Administrative Detention
In addition to the rising network of torture camps, reports have shown a dramatic increase in administrative detention by Israel on Palestinian men, women, and children detainees who are being wrongfully imprisoned and subject to torture, dehumanization, and sexual abuse.
As early as November 2023, Amnesty International documented increases in the use of administrative detention of Palestinians across the West Bank. Within a month, over 2,000 men and women were in custody without charge or trial through administrative detention. As many as 10,000 people have been arrested through other measures across Jerusalem, West Bank, and Gaza.
Decades of Imprisonment
Palestinians have been subjected to this illegal procedure since the beginning of the zionist regime’s occupation. Administrative detention is a procedure “permitting” the detainment of an individual indefinitely based on “secret information”. Detainees are not formally charged with any crime and are not permitted to stand trial. If anyone ever receives a trial, it is frequently conducted in a military court of the zionist entity, which has a stark conviction rate.
Detention as Collective Punishment
In addition to the illegality of administrative detention, “israel” has increased the use of their “Unlawful Combatants” law, since October 2023 which is also not recognized by international law. This has been used to indefinitely detain Palestinians from Gaza and joins administrative detention as a tool for persecution and collective punishment.
No Humanity
Every day we think we have seen the worst of humanity being carried out by the zionist regime. The blood of children dripping from flour bags of collected body parts, babies being destroyed minutes after birth, and countless images of starving men digging through rubble to find their families.
However, every “worst” image continues to be shrouded by another. While the ground level attacks are horrific enough, there’s a darker network of evil and suffering in the zionist entity’s system of torture camps, where administrative detention is rampant, and the screams and dehumanization are exacerbated with brutal beatings, torture, and rape.
No Justice, No Peace
Advocates continue to push for a ceasefire and arms embargo, while many world leaders continue to pander with empty words for support in genocide. We must continue to push for action and educate the world on the endless despicable war crimes carried out by this “democratic” occupying regime.
